*Welcome*
Thank you for visiting our website, "Knee and Thigh: Injury Assessment". This website functions to serve not only as an educational website to the general public, but also as a method of review for Certified Athletic Trainers and other Allied Healthcare Professionals. A complete, comprehensive review of evaluating injuries and conditions regarding both the knee and thigh is discussed. The knee joint, or Tibiofemoral joint, is susceptible to both injuries and chronic conditions due to the following factors: It's location inferior to the majority of an individual's mass, the degree of mobility produced for activities of daily living, as well as the potential for overuse and instability. We hope you find this website to be both helpful and educational. Please feel free to comment on this website to the email addresses provided below.

Case Scenario 1:
A 59 year-old female athlete enters the clinic complaining of right knee pain. Her chief complaint regards pain and inflammation within the antero-medial aspect of the knee. The overall inhibition of performance through training and remaining active remains a side complaint. She has trained with a Certified Personal Trainer approximately three times per week for the past seven years. Additionally, she lives an active lifestyle.
Case Scenario 2:
A male, collegiate hockey player suffers blunt force trauma to the anterior aspect of the thigh (quadriceps region), and struggles to exit the ice. He limps into the locker room, and falls, writhing in pain. Upon immediate assessment, the athlete informs the Athletic Trainer that he took a hit to the left quad, and is experiencing severe muscle spasms. He is assisted to the training room for further evaluation.
